The Lone Wolf Experience I’m 2019 I was put into contact with Shane Byerly and Deborah Byerly (Powers) not long after. I sent my 3 year old colt who had never seen the inside of a horse trailer for training. From the beginning his well being was taken into account, especially it being summer and transporting or training him. Shane talked with me to find out what direction I wanted to take Diesel and set to work starting the young colt. After he had a good start, Deb went to work on honing him. Her bond formed through all of the hours she has spent with him has created one of the most well behaved and talented horses I own. Shane and Deb are not just his trainers, they are also his nutritionalist, groomers, haulers, photographers, cheerleaders, worried parents, and a bucket list of other rolls that I never get to see. When I put him into their care I never have to worry about his well being. Every small matter is in their interest and they stay in contact with me about everything. His training is top notch.

Blossoming from a young colt to a polished senior competing stallion. He is taken to many different shows with the most thought put into account as to where he will shine the best. Dedication to Diesel’s show career has meant many weekends away from home. Though fun, those weekends are spent, prepping, hauling, loading/unloading, grooming, practicing, pattern memorizing, tack changes, recording, and responding. In the long run Shane and Deb put many hours, blood, sweat, and tears into the stallion “Lethal Dose Dun It”. Without them he would not be the competitor or half the well minded horse he is. I’m forever grateful to have met them. But please, take what I have to say with a grain of salt. Let your own experience with them help make your judgement, you won’t be disappointed. Let their actions speak louder than my words. Jessica Richardson- owner of “Lethal Dose Dun It”.

I’ve always been a “do-it-yourselfer” kind of rider. I’d take lessons and go home and apply what I learned. This past year, I was starting to have my confidence rattled when my green filly kept tripping and falling due to not paying attention or having her                                                                                          feet not connected to her brain. It was becoming a danger to                                                                                                                have her fall on me. I had taken a couple of lessons and really                                                                                                                  loved how they explained things and showed me what they                                                                                                                     were explaining. They also provided me great explanations as to                                                                                                             the how and why we do things certain ways. After those few l                                                                                                                 lessons, I felt it was in mine and my filly’s best interest to go into i                                                                                                          training with Deb & Shane at Lone Wolf Ranch. I only planned                                                                                                              to keep her there for a month or so, fast forward to almost a                                                                                                                  year she has been in training with them. She was riding around so different, mature, and broke. She just kept getting better and better, so I didn’t want to slow her progress and their process. The results they have achieved in less than a year would have easily taken me twice as long to get to. I even trusted them to take her to SC when they moved from FL, which if anyone knows me, knows I am not that person to not be involved and visiting almost daily to watch progress, lesson, and continue to learn as my filly learned. I knew she would be well taken care of and I didn’t have to worry. Hands down, best trainers I’ve met in a long time. They genuinely do this for the love of the horse and the sport. They are honest, up front with your horses’ limitations and operate with integrity. I am excited to continue training long distance and hauling up for intensive “boot camps” to make sure we stay on the right track!

Almost 4 months ago I bought this little cutie. She had just turned 3. A friend of mine swore by Deb and Shane for her training. I'm so glad I listened!!!! After just a few weeks, she went to her very first ARHA show and took 4th out of 12 horses!!! I'm amazed at their program. They don't rush your horse!!!! I get updates constantly... pics, videos even phone calls. They are always available to answer my questions about Trixie's training. If you're looking for a great team, you can't go wrong with Deb and Shane at Lone Wolf Ranch!!!

I had a 3 year old gelding, IMA SHINY PEPTO that I unfortunately needed to sell. I sent him to Shane and Deb for 45 days of tune up and to prep him for the Ocala Sale November 2022. My horse did spend 4 months prior to that with a reining based trainer where he learned to walk, trot, canter, stop back and start of the turn around. I went to see my horse after 25 days with Shane and Deb and was blown away. He had easily gained 80 pounds in muscle and weight, his neck was even a totally different shape, he rode around super broke jumping logs, side passing logs, jogging the log drag, snappy rollbacks and most impressively he had a lead change both directions. Bewildered I turned and asked "You taught him lead changes already?" Shane laughed and said "Did you ever ask him?" Me "No I just thought he wasn't ready" Shane "How do you know he's not ready if you don't ask? All we did was ask and he said he was ready." They knew my horse better than I did in less than a month. At the sale they were true professionals, prepping him, showing him off and answering questions. More importantly they were there for a shoulder to cry on as I shed a few tears realizing he had sold. Shane and Deb will do two things without a doubt, they will feed your horse and they will ride your horse and they will do both things very well. Below is a 30 day before and after photo.

Deb and Shane Byerly have a natural affinity for horses and training. Shane has an inept ability to instruct to you not at you and not down to you. He explains and it works. Some trainers make me super nervous and both Deb and Shane keep me at ease. Thanks for a tremendous 2022 and looking forward to more years to come.
